Sylvan Ransom

Sylvan Ransom received a B.S. in Earth Science and a B.A. in Mathematics from University of California Santa Cruz, where he focused on physical ocean/climate science as well as fluid dynamics. He has done dynamical ocean modeling for the UCSC Ocean Sciences Department, fire science research for the National Weather Service, and sea ice research for Argonne National Lab. An obsessive learner, Sylvan is interested in just about every aspect of ocean science (especially where math is involved) but is particularly interested in learning about engineering applications at CCOM. Outside of work, Sylvan enjoys writing, learning about anything he can, and spending time with friends and family.
