Kira Kaplan

Kira holds a B.A. in Computer Science and Biology from Smith College where she focused on the applications of machine learning in underwater image processing. Her time working with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) jumpstarted this passion. Since then, she has spent time working with NOAA's National Center for Coastal Ocean Science exploring the use of citizen science data to implement models for deep sea coral identification as well as conducting her undergraduate thesis on domain adaptation techniques for underwater image processing. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors, reading, and eating good food!
